Notwithstanding a tight race or maybe a last-minute phone call from the outgoing U.S. president, the good people of Georgia will find out in the next 36 hours which two candidates will represent them in the U.S. Senate.
Should voters in the Peach State disrupt the status quo and elect challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, Democrats will effectively take control of the U.S. Senate from the Republicans, which along with control of the U.S. House of Representatives and the White House lays a solid platform that could define the next two years of President-elect Joe Biden’s four-year term.
Should the state elect the incumbents, GOP Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, the Senate will remain in Republican hands and likely curtail some of Biden’s legislative agenda.
Aside from the huge political stakes, both parties have raised a combined $500 million, placing the runoff for each seat in the top five most expensive U.S. Senate races ever, according to the Washington, D.C.,-based Center for Responsive Politics.
If you want to follow along, here are 11 Twitter accounts that will keep you up to date on how both runoffs are progressing.

While declining to run for either Senate race this time around, the 47-year-old was still hard at work and has been credited with helping register as many as 800,000 new voters. twitter.com/staceyabrams
